Some Re:Assembly Required
System [Reassembly required. Please remain calm. Your feelings have been noted and discarded.]
The System has opinions about who you should be. Good thing other people disagree.
The story
When the Wave rewrites Earth into a System-run spectacle, burned-out designer Skyler gets assigned a rare class, a much smaller body, and a secondhand guardian plush with strong opinions about everything.
Some Re:Assembly Required is a cozy-but-cutting LitRPG about the parts of a life that don’t come with a respawn — the friendships you didn’t ask for, the dignity you have to fight to keep, and the slow, stubborn work of becoming yourself on the hardest difficulty there is. Real numbers-go-up satisfaction, a soft heart under the stat screen, and a running side-eye at every trope that’s ever earned one.
Come for the builds and the banter. Stay for the people who decide you’re worth keeping.
The party
-
Skyler Payne
Regression Elemental Mage
Thirty-three, and a graphic designer until he was laid off the morning the world changed. His magic runs on his own age. Dry, self-aware, and quippy under threat.
-
Huggo
Guardian companion · Hugglesworth Prime
A well-loved red panda plush, running snark as armor over a warm mentor’s heart. That’s him on the cover, peeking out of the Pause Button: Skyler’s bonded paw-print pacifier.
-
Sarah Varghese
Crisis Adept
Thirty-eight, an ER nurse, and the found family’s anchor.
-
Jonah Reyes
Hearthwall Ursine
A seven-foot bear-kin shield wall with a gentle heart.
Good to know
A found family story with age regression at its heart: onesies, a pacifier, a rude stuffed sidekick, and a tired adult learning to be cared for. Earnest and warm, played for the heart.
Expect some mild violence. Pull up a chair.
